Job Description

We are seeking a Carpenter’s Assistant / Junior Helper to support framing and drywall crews on commercial projects throughout NYC. This is an entry-level role with opportunities to learn from experienced carpenters and grow into a skilled trade position.

Responsibilities

  • Assist carpenters with framing, drywall hanging, and finish work.
  • Handle materials, load and unload supplies, and set up work areas.
  • Use hand tools and power tools under supervision.
  • Keep job sites organized and free of debris.
  • Follow safety procedures and assist in moving and positioning framing members.
  • Learn trade techniques and assist with layout and measurements.

Requirements

  • 0–1 year of carpentry or construction experience preferred.
  • Willingness to learn and follow directions from senior carpenters.
  • Must be able to lift heavy materials and work on ladders or scaffolding.
  • Basic hand tools and safety gear required.
  • OSHA 10 certification a plus.
  • Dependable and hardworking with a positive attitude.
